Why are your made to measure and designer couture wedding gowns less expensive?

A. All of my designs are hand-made at my own workshop by my own dedicated bridal team near Bangalore, south India: thus my overheads are much less than if made in the UK, I can then pass these savings onto my customers. But rest assured that the quality of garment and service is never compromised.

How do I know your gowns are genuine couture?

A. You can be fully assured that my designs are 100% authentic and made to the highest possible standards, and I offer both made to measure and couture. Please see below an explanation by one of the top UK wedding fashion houses as to what is genuine couture and true made to measure:

Made to measure is where the bride chooses an existing design, that is then made up to fit her. The price quoted normally includes a number of fittings. Made to measure dresses typically start from £1500 upwards. In the ideal world, all brides would have their dresses made to measure, to ensure a perfect fit.

Couture is where the customer sits down with the designer and the dress is designed from scratch to the customer’s specification. With couture, there is usually always a toile fitting, (to check the fit of the pattern), before the dress is cut and made up. Couture dresses typically start from £3000 upwards, as they are very time consuming and expensive to manufacture.

How much should I pay for my dress?

A. It is always helpful to identify a budget for your dress and try to stick to it, but as a guide, you can buy off the peg wedding gowns today from as little as £60, but remember these will be mass produced and not unique. On average brides pay between £1000 - £4000 for their gown. But you can buy gowns up to £50,000!

My made to measure gowns begin from around £600 and my couture gowns start from around £900. And remember my price includes all alterations, so this will help you to set your budget knowing there are no extras.

How I can I be sure that I'm buying with confidence?

A. I am a fully qualified, international award-winning fashion designer and have successfully designed for woman in the UK, Europe, USA and the Far East and offer complete confidence when designing your dream wedding gown. And I also offer a full refund if you are not happy with your final fit.

How long will I have to wait for my dress?

A. This usually depends on the content of your chosen design, but as a guide, I can usually offer a minimum of 12 weeks to a maximum of 20 weeks, this is possible because of my own dedicated bridal team.

Is there an extra charge for alterations or any hidden charges?

A. No, all of my prices include alterations and there are no hidden costs to add to your chosen design

Do you have dresses I can try on?

A. Yes I do, I have many designs for you to try on, I can bring them along to your home or visit my lovely studio in Suffolk, UK.
